<![CDATA[hmmm, the camera isn't responding (CTronics 1080p PTZ)]]>Like others I’ve read many pages on this subject, and tried many of the suggestions but I’m not getting anywhere.
My setup:-
Router - Asus RT-AC86U running Merlin firmware
1 camera - CTronics 1080PTZ
No DVR or NVR
Raspberry Pi4 running Monocle Gateway
Trying to view on a Sony TV via a FireTV 4k stick

Dashboard:-1-Dashboard.png
(Not sure why the time displayed against “Last Viewed” is showing as Eastern Standard Time? Camera, Raspberry Pi and router are all synchronised to GMT)
Camera feed:-2-Camera-feed.jpg
Stream properties:-3-Stream properties.png
Monocle Gateway:-4-Monacle-gateway.png
Response to the “show me” request to Alexa:-4a-Stream.png
nslookups carried on the Pi and another PC on the LAN:-5-nslookup.png
dnsmasq.conf file from the router:-6-dnsmasq.conf.png
I added the last line by virtue of following advice from another post relating to ‘binding’, but I freely admit I really don’t know what I’m doing when it comes to DNS binding, re-binding, etc.
Any suggestions?

Leave the WAN settings as is per your ISP.

OK, so on the NAT Type setting there is the full cone option. It was on Symmetric so I changed it to full cone but Alexa still comes back with the Hmm, camera not responding.

Looking at the results from the nslookups carried out on the Raspberry PI and LAN PC, does that appear to be correct?

Ok, so I have 6 options on WAN Type - Automatic IP, Static IP, PPoE, PPTP, L2TP and v6plus. I understand my ISP applies dynamic IP addresses upon connection so I am reluctant to alter this from its current setting of Automatic IP?

In router now and looking at an Asus ZenWiFi AX. I see a setting called Internet connection ==> wan type ==> symmetric or full cone…try to set this to full cone (guessing this is hairpinning)…and ping address…

I have access now to similar router. Here is what I have configured in my PFSense box:

PFSense ==> Services ==> DNS Resolver ==> General settings ==>

Custom Options:

server:
private-domain: "5fe9299d-xxxx.mproxy.io"
local-zone: "home.by.me" static

server:include: /var/unbound/pfb_dnsbl.*conf

Enable hair pinning on your router and then ping the “5fe9299d-xxxx.mproxy.io”. Yours is a JPG image so I could not replicate it.

Looking to see if your router has similar options.

In the router I’m using the firewall part of the Merlin firmware. I haven’t made any changes to it in relation to port 443. I had the impression that because everything is LAN-side there was no need to open 443 to the internet?

What firewall are you using?

Here in my PFSense DNS resolver settings have installed the FQDN.

Ping it from a command line to test.

I am not too familiar with your Asus router. I did just recently set up an OpenVPN server on one.
