i have this camera and a new echo show 8. I cant seem to get it working. Works perfectly fine in vlc so i know the feed is good. I tried dropping the res to 1080p and still no joy. Alexa just keeps saying the camera is not responding. Any ideas?

I have a DS-2DE3304W-DE together with an Echo 8 and got it working by using the sub-stream. Only issue I have is a 10 to 15 second buffer.

I had this issue and found that the problem appears to be the default main feed on the DVR or camera is set to H.265 if you change it to H.264 it works fine. The delay in the feed is normal.

@pridsdale If you use a DVR the settings will override the camera so it might look right on the camera and not work. Check the DVR/NVR setting for H.264

@chrisb306 check any firewalls and disable to test, see my post as got another hik working now with gateway.
Also ensure substream is set to lowest res.
