    1/3 Cameras Not Working (Long Time User) [SOLVED]

      I’ve donated in the past and have been using the system for a while. Two of my Amcrest cameras work great but the new (3rd) one does not. The link I use in Monocle works in VLC without issue.

      I am using Alexa Show and I say “Show me the driveway” and it says OK and then after a couple seconds it goes to a black screen. And then it goes back to the Show homescreen.

      I do not have any issues with the other two camera. This one is: IP4M-1051

      rtsp://192.168.100.55:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0

      Only difference between this URL and others is the IP.

      Will make another donation if you help me resolve this.

      I’ve generated a new API, removed and added the Skill, nothing.

        Here is the log. I looked at some of the other suggestions. It’s on the same network as the other cameras that work. All are Amcrest and all are IP4M versions. Again, the URL works with VLC. Alexa never tells me there is a problem - it just doesn’t connect.

        Also, each time there is a change made on Monocle, does it require me to remove the Skill and add it back?

          No, you should never need to remove and re-add the skill unless somehow your Amazon account becomes unlinked.

          You may have to ask Alexa to “Discover New Devices” if you add new cameras or modify the name of an existing camera. All other settings can be updated with no discovery needed.

            It looks like the gateway and camera are fully negotiating the RTSP stream and the camera does start to PLAY the stream. However, after starting the stream, the Alexa device seems to disconnect shortly after. So there must be something about the stream that the Alexa device does not like.

            Which Alexa device are you using? Some Alexa devices like the Echo Show 5 are limited to 1080P. So you many need to lower the stream resolution on the camera itself if this is the case.

                BTW, I renamed the post title and removed the “Paid Support” text. We currently don’t offer a paid subscription model and I don’t want anyone to get confused and think there is an option for paid support. That is something we are working towards, but not there yet. We certainly appreciate the donations and that helps us continue development and moving forward.

                  The issue was with the quality. I had configured it in Moncle but not on the camera itself. I didn’t with the other two working cameras but if any issue comes up in the future, I’ll be sure to review that.

                  I am using the Show 5.
