If you get the following message when trying to link the Monocle Alexa Skill …
We were unable to link Monocle RTSP/RTP IP Cameras at this time.
Please try again later. Then try to link the skill using the Alexa web portal at: https://alexa.amazon.com
A number of users have reported this issue and have been able to successfully complete linking the skill using the web page above. We have not been able to reproduce the problem and it seems fairly random so not entirely sure what’s going wrong on the Amazon side.

It should be the audio stream which is responsible for the issue. Sometimes it also seems the the final resolution is a little struggeling with Alexa.

Hi @steqal,
This issue is more about trying to get the Alexa Skill in the Alexa App linked to your Amazon account. Some users have been experiencing trouble recently just trying to get the skill linked to their accounts – this is before ever attmepting to create a camera or trying to view a camera stream.
However, I agree … Alexa can be a bit of a struggle at times :-)
Thanks, Robert

@Monocle so today my cameras wouldn’t display and Alexa suggested disabling and re enabling the skill and now I get that error. I’ve tried both the app and the webpage and still no luck. Any other advice?

Gent it seems the SSL cert had expired today so maybe that is causing the issue?

So… I think the cert expired again… what gives?
