      MONOCLE GATEWAY:

This camera has been confirmed to work without the Monocle Gateway service for certain Alexa devices. Please see: Supported Alexa Devices

      CONFIGURATION NOTES:

      • Video Codec
The camera comes with the default video codec set to H.265. Alexa devices do not support H.265 and thus users must configure the stream to use H.264H to be compatible with Alexa device.

      • Audio Codec
The camera comes with the default audio codec set to G.711A. Alexa devices do support G.711 however this camera exhibits a a severe lag/delay in the video stream that continually gets worse while the stream is playing. It is suggested to change the audio codec to use AAC instead which seem to perform correctly and does not exhibit the lag/delay/latency issue. (In further testing, it does seem like G.711A and G.711Mu work acceptably at 8K frequency, but not at higher sampling rates.)
