Dahua IPC-HDW4433C-A not working with Echo Show 5 [ANSWERED]
-
Hi,
I have one Dahua IPC-HDW4433C-A and I want to use it with Alexa in Echo Show 5 device. I have already configure the feed in monocle web site as follows:
rtsp://192.168.1.70:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=1
I have tested this feed and is working with VLC.
When I call my camera through Alexa (Echo show 5), after some seconds the answer is “the camera isn’t responding”
I am using substream 1:
VIDEO
Encode mode: H.264
Resolution: 704*576(D1)AUDIO
Encode mode: AAC
Sampling Frequency: 16000Could you please give me a hand with this?
Thanks in advance.

The Echo Show 5 and 8 require using our Monocle Gateway software (https://monoclecam.com/monocle-gateway). These newer devices impose stricter security requirements that prevent Alexa devices from simply accessing the camera streams directly on your private network. Basically these devices will only connect to encrypted camera stream using real DNS hostnames and valid SSL certificates. The Monocle Gateway helps accomplish this for you and encrypts the camera stream keeping everything private and local on your network.
Thanks, Robert
