Echo show not displaying cameras
-
Echo show stopped displaying cameras and says go to alexa app and re enable skill.
In the alexa app skill was enabled.
I disabled the skill.
Now when I try to enable it the login to monocle fails
Any help appreciated

@Graham2607
Have exactly this problem despite it having worked perfectly for a long, long time. -
This is a known problem. There is an expired token for the Alexa skill code at Amazon that requires intervention by the author. Not sure he is monitoring the app any longer.

@vmsman Thank you for the response.

@ALL.
Sorry, about the delay in getting this issue resolved. I was away from my office all last week and unable to access the necessary details and resources to work on this problem.
PLEASE TRY AGAIN NOW. (You may need to restart your Monocle Gateway instances.)
The issue started when I replaced all the SSL certificates at the end of January. Even though we have a pre-paid and valid 5 year certificate, the SSL rules require that it gets replaced annually now. So after updating all the certificates and restarting all the services that allow Monocle to function, it all appeared to be working from my local testing. However somewhere in the changes … the Monocle/Alexa authentication service failed to re-connect to the Monocle backend database properly. Perhaps it was holding onto (cached) the previous SSL for its secure connection which then expired. I’ll have to dig a bit deeper to better understand why it continued to fail to connect over the course of several days, but I believe this was the underlying issue causing failed account re-linking, failure to refresh Alexa tokens and failure for Monocle Gateway to reconnect and throw 401 errors.
Please let me know if any of you have further issues getting Monocle working again.
Thanks, Robert

@Monocle I still cannot view my camera. Alexa says they’re not responding even re-enabling the skill. I have UniFi Protect cameras. Were working fine before this. Thoughts?

Did you try restating your Monocle Gateway instance? If so, what does it show (log output) when requesting Alexa to show the camera feed.
Thanks, Robert

@Monocle I have the same issue. Where or what is my gateway instance? I have a skill which is use to connect to your service. That’s it as far as Alexa is concerned. If I log in the Monocle I see my cameras, is there a restart here?

Please follow this thread for further updates on this issue. This is for users who are NOT using the Monocle Gateway.
https://forum.monoclecam.com/topic/1341/alexa-now-linked-still-not-working(If you are not familiar with Monocle Gateway, then you probably never had to install it. Some Alexa devices and some cameras require using Monocle Gateway.)

@Monocle I don’t have my own gateway. I’ll refer to the other post. Thanks.

Just a quick poll … for those of you not using a Monocle Gateway … which Alexa devices have you been using to successfully display your camera feeds. And what camera models have you been successful with?
Thanks, Robert

You can test it again now (at your convenience) and see if its working again. I think I found and resolved the issue but have not been able to test it yet. Are you using RTSP feeds directly to your G3 cameras or are you using the RTSP feeds from a Unifi Protect NVR? I was testing feeds from the NVR but have only been able to get them working using the Monocle Gateway.
Thanks, Robert

For those of you not using a Monocle Gateway … it should be working again now. Tested and confirmed locally.
Thanks, Robert

@Monocle I can confirm that my Unifi Protect cameras (G3 Instants and G4 Instant) are working via the Monocle gateway.
