@Joe Thanks so much for posting this. Monocle had been rock solid for me for the past two years, so this recent issue really threw me off.
I checked out Scrypted after seeing your post, gave it a try, and it’s doing exactly what I needed from MonocleCam.
Looks like I’ll be moving over to Scrypted for now too. That said, I’ll definitely keep checking back here — I’ve always liked the Monocle solution and would love to come back if things pick back up.

I’m guessing there isn’t much support for this solution anymore. A lot of the comms looks dated.

Never mind. It must have been a transient error, because the skill is accessible again now.

I’m still seeing the DNS resolve error, so thing’s still not right.

Try unlinking and relinking the Alexa skill in the Alexa app, ensuring your login credentials are correct and the skill is properly configured. stay in touch for more info!

@przem2k Scrypted is free for basic functions such as this. The paid version offers full NVR functionality, allowing full recording of video and generated events. The free version is able to replace the functionality that is lost by Monocle no longer working.
