Not able to register a new account

Hi, I have problems to register a new account for my friend. He registered a new account, but he never gets a conformation mail. When he tries to register the same email address again, the system says:
“This email address is not available. If you have already created an account using this email address, please try to reset your account password or contact support for further assistance.”

I try it with a different email address and have the same problems. No conformation mail in spam folder or somewhere else.
Can somebody try it too?

Please try again. I made some fixes today that should address this issue. You will need to re-register an email address that was not fully activated.
