I have a DS-2CD2142FWD-I and cant get it to work with Alexa.
What stream and resolution do you use ?

@llozer Isso, tem de deixar rodando um programa.
Infelizmente o mais fácil é ter câmeras com suporte nativo a Alexa. Dei uma pesquisada se as câmeras mais antigas poderiam suportar, mas não encontrei nada além dessa configuração no Monocle.

There was an outage for several days but it should be up and working again as of about a week ago.

Based on your inspiration, I have published an updated docker container for Monocle Gateway that should support arm64 and x64.
It’s available here: https://hub.docker.com/r/monoclecam/monocle-gateway/tags

I have only performed the most basic testing thus far but you are welcome to try it out and see if it works for you.
I also looked at the github actions defined in your repo to build and deploy the container image. I’ll be borrowing some of your workflow script and add that to the official repo as well.

I kept the base container using alpine. Was there any specific reason or issue you opted for debian?

@Kadman Have you installed the Monocle gateway?

I spent a bit more time on this today & I finally managed to get my camera to stream to the Alexa show 5.
The only issue now is that the stream lasts for around 30 seconds & then the screen freezes & displays “Buffering” & then shortly after returns to the Alexa Show homescreen.

I’ve tried adjusting the display settings & going from the Main stream to the Sub stream on the camera but it still buffers.

Has anybody experienced the buffering issue & if so how did you manage to solve it?

This is an open source project and not really supported here on the forums, but you will likely need to play with the timing or increments of the PTZ instructions being sent to the camera. I have seen cameras act in the manner you describe when they are overwhelmed with too many instructions. It’s also possible if the camera is too busy, it missing or not getting the STOP instructions.

For my FB Portal is the same, would like to have this option!

I’ve finally got my cameras to work through my 2nd generation echo show and also my Amazon Fire TV however I still cannot view through my echo show 5, it just keeps saying “camera is not responding”. I’m thinking its the echo show 5 that’s the issue?

i have got a second docker using it als reverse proxy. All 443 and 80 communication is routed there. So i have to reroute monocle traffic to the monocle docker container … i’ll try and write back.

Die DNS-Server beim Provider blocken interne IP. Mit anderen DNS-Servern oder mit DNSSec klappt es.

It is no Issue with the Fritzbox-Router!

The automatic assigned upstream DNS-Server block private IP at provider’s site. So the use of other DNS-Server or DNSSec solve this issue.
