I now have been able to get both cameras to run in VLC. I am successful in getting one camera to run on Alexa but after a minute or 2 it starts buffering and loses the connection. Sure would be nice if we could get some support from Monocle.

Well it is fixed - I changed from @tunnel to just having @proxy and it now works!

However, there is a minor annoyance in that the image times out (buffers then goes back to Home Screen), but that’s a problem for another time.

I already have @hangup, @noaudio, @proxy set and, as you can tell, I’m running the Gateway.
The connection doesn’t work under @tunnel or by not using the gateway.
The only other codec available to my cameras are H264+ and H265, which we can’t use and using H264+ stops the feed entirely.
I’m a bit stumped but if I come up with something I’ll post it here.

Finally, I want to add here on Monoclecam forums - I have been working/writing drivers for smart home devices and one implementation was specific to using a BI image background to a device tile - during that work - much of the dev’s on the Hubitat forums have been discussing noticed changes happening at Amazon. Other, well known and heavily used drivers and apps have been having problems, hiccups. It seems that SSL and tls1.2 are become hard set in all OS’s and this is having a dramatic impact. As Dev’s all over the world try to keep up - realize Amazon does NOT help for sh*T and their doc’s are barely valuable in many cases. I personally stumbled over a recently published document at Amazon about new requirements.
End users that take advantage and enjoy the value and power of Monocle and other 3rd party products are going to be impacted and all I can say is ‘pray’. As the direction of Amazon changes - some may walk away, some may throw their shoulders into the task, and others will succeed. It is the way of things. (paraphrasing Gandalf)

You have to prefix the command you are using with sudo to gain administrative privileges.

To create the directory:

sudo mkdir /etc/monocle

If you are copying the token file to the correct directory from your home directory:

sudo cp ~/monocle.token /etc/monocle/monocle.token

The Monocle Gateway can listen on port 443 on a private/internal IP address. It does not have to be exposed on your Internet facing IP.

I don’t think the Apache proxy would work unless it can support a TCP proxy at a lower level than the HTTP protocol layer. Perhaps HA proxy or maybe Stunnel could be used if it serves the SSL certificate and redirects traffic based on the requested hostname. In this case Monocle Gateway would need to disable its handling of SSL and listen on a non-encrypted port. I think it can do this but may require a little investigation.
